Breaking into the craft beer market can be no easy task. For this project, we looked at the product’s characteristics to create a unique brand image that would tell a distinctive story. The high quality and gourmet positioning of this Catalan beer led us to the golden age of beer, the Middle Ages of castles and monasteries where monks brewed it.
So to create the name, we focused on the historic region of La Gotia, the name the Franks gave to this marquisate located in present-day Catalonia and southern France during the time of the Spanish March. We drew inspiration from the heraldry of shields and banners to create the logo and the rest of the graphics, which are applied to the packaging with an elegant color scheme of nuanced tones.
